Marketing Specialist

I love being a marketer! When you create a campaign with your team that is effective and resonates with your audience, it’s an amazing feeling.

I moved to Seattle from Orlando, FL in April of 2019. I miss year round beach days and driving down to South Florida for weekend getaways with my family but nothing beats the panoramic mountain views, the killer hikes, and the gorgeous summer weather here in Western Washington.

My Experience

Social Media

Managing a company’s voice on multiple social media platforms. Promoting events, services, products, and resources across all platforms.

Events

Planning events, hiring vendors, organizing presentations and speakers. Coordinating event sponsors, and distributing invitations.

Copywriting

Creating copy for landing pages, brochures, Sales PDF’s, and email blasts. Writing blogs, press releases, and case studies.

Project Management

Taking the marketing plan and delegating to the team. Determining the timeline for each project based on the team’s workload, and following up to ensure the project stays on track.

My Projects

AVIXA Women’s Counsel Orlando Kick-Off

I organized this event to celebrate and support the women of the live events industry. It’s a common occurrence for women in this industry is to show up on site and be the only woman there. It’s intimidating, isolating, and can make it hard for women in the field to feel empowered to grow.

We hosted this event and helped establish the local AVIXA Women’s Counsel Chapter to provide important resources to women in the industry.

Let’s Talk About Specs!

This is an idea I pitched to make our technical specs videos more engaging and entertaining. Once the idea was approved I managed the project from start to finish, staying on top of the team and freelancers involved in completing the project. We uploaded the video directly to Facebook and LinkedIn and it performed 4 times better than the previous tech/specs videos.

Guest Blog Recruiter/Editor

This blog written by Jamie Jacobs, a freelance technician in the live events industry, tackles the stigma of mental health and how that stigma impacted her on the job.

I was responsible for maintaining relationships with technicians, freelancers, and business owners in the industry and looking for opportunities to collaborate on blogs, podcasts, and so forth. I managed all collaboration projects, and served as an editor for any blogs.

Live Support!

The live events industry is reeling from the economic impacts of COVID-19 and is facing unprecedented challenges to survive. The future of this industry and of the experience economy will be determined by how the industry adapts and the support it receives from our Federal Government.

In this article I look at the economic impacts to the live events industry and industries that rely on it. I also included actionable steps to request federal aid and join the Live Events Coalition.

Marketing = Empathy + Strategy

Understanding what’s important to your customers and the problems you are solving for them is the key to cutting through the “noise”.
